We hosted the third annual Humanities and STEAM Day on Saturday, June 20th, and had a great time learning about the areas where the humanities and sciences overlap! Students this year had the opportunity to attend classes about symmetry, painting star formations, perspective, printing with light, the science behind color, and the secret life of salts. We are grateful to have been invited to participate in Leary Elementary STEM Night on May 13, 2026. We filled a classroom with our interactive demos, allowing kids to experience science concepts firsthand. It was a lot of fun for the families who visited, as well as our wondeful volunteers! We will be once again be volunteering with our friends in Optics for their U of R Optics Family Night! This is a family-friendly event where kids of all ages are given the opportunity to participate in optics experiments and watch some mesmerizing demos. A NYSS-APS grant allowed us to debut the House of Illusions at Spooky Science Day this year! The House of Illusions is a science museum-style exhibit themed as a haunted house.
